About Us
Dr. Rachel Hosier
Dr. Rachel Hosier is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She is primarily an equine veterinarian for Clay Creek Equine Veterinary Services.
Wilbur was her beloved stray, turned barn cat, turned house cat. He came into her life in 2014, just a few months before she began vet school. He was her best friend and constant companion for many years, but unfortunately in 2023 he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of GI Lymphoma. Despite diligent care and top treatment from Dr. Colleen Martin and the oncology team at VRC Malvern, his condition progressed quickly. Rachel made the decision to euthanize him peacefully at home on October 13, 2023.
Wilbur’s Wings was born out of that experience. Although Wilbur’s illness was difficult to go through, I was so grateful to be able to have his last moments be exactly what I wanted for him. We spent the day together, laid in the grass in his favorite place, and said goodbye in the afternoon sun. I wanted to be able to provide that experience to other pet owners, and have since become a Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Veterinarian.
